In 2008, a news story broke that Wal-Mart Stores was entering into the market for
electronic health records to bring the digital technology for physicians in small offices. This
makes Wal-Mart a competitor in an already crowded medical digital imaging market.

Wal-Mart's plan to digital medical records now also coincides with the $19 billion of incentives in the President Obama's economic stimulus package.

Wal-Mart is teaming up with with Dell for computers and eClinicalWorks for software.
Wal-Mart says its price will undercut existing health information technology suppliers by as
much as half.
