WalMart Getting Involved with Microfilm Scanning?
Although the news story broke that Wal-Mart Stores was entering into the market for
electronic health records to bring the digital technology for physicians in small offices, Wal-Mart will not actually be
scanning microfilm or digitizing microfiche.
Wal-Mart is teaming up with with Dell for computers and eClinicalWorks for software.
Wal-Mart says its price will undercut existing health information technology suppliers by as
much as half. So who will actually be converting paper, microfilm or microfiche to digital images? Probably the same faceless entities that scanned for Google's newspaper archive.
If you have come to the point where you need to convert 35mm roll film, 16mm roll film,
aperture cards, Florida paper documents, microfiche, or color slides in your medical office
or small business, please contact Scanning Depot.
